Every shade of blue, Clouds baked in sunlight. The vantage from our flight, From this seat I see. Not only you, but we, The power between us. My life is in your trust, It is just you and me. Any other feeling we hold for now. Focus on the motions to leave the ground. Any other questions before we go? Radio ahead just let them know? I hear you say over, but you should know I’m oveur, too. We’re cruising just above, The fog thick below here. We’ll push on till it clears, To Chicago, we will be. If what you say is real, It chills me to my core. Like nothing we’ve trained for, I turn to God now and plea. What is it doctor, what’s going on? We’re not prepared for this kind of wrong. You will have to search now to try and find, Someone with some training that’s sound of mind. I hear you say over but you should know I’m oveur too. So now, what I feel, Is this fear, that is real. I hear you say over but you should know I’m oveur too. Who, who, who, who’ll fly for you, you, you, when I’m gone? I will survive, by your side.

Well I want to talk to you, alright? I'm sorry that things got out of hand last night. But If you talk to me, I'll make it right. I know it’s hard to understand, It didn't go as I had planned, He barged right in and took your hand, I heard you call him Daniel. We've been together far so long, I need to tell you I was wrong, Remind you of when we were strong, I know I'm stronger than that Daniel. I wish that you'd pick up the phone, I want to tell you I have grown, I can't fight this fight alone, You can't up and leave for Daniel. How can I make it right, if you never call me back? Why won't you talk to me?

Connection, feels right, it had been such a weird night. I got it started when I asked you something strange, hey? Affection, is real, I feel the way that you feel. I guess it’s crazy that my heart could make this change, yeah? Reflection, seems true, you do me and I do you. It happened quickly and I didn’t mean to stay, hey? Objection, with time, his life and mine on the line. I know we didn’t want to start our day this way, yeah? Won’t you just leave him alone? Protection, to give, so that we all still can live. He offered up his college savings; please just let him go, yeah? Correction, you’ll see, a matter for family. I’m not a bimbo so just stop your bullying, yeah? Direction, we need, and with the presence of speed. He’s got us lined up and I really need to leave, yeah? Perfection, 'bout time, we’ll leave while we are still fine. I’ll end up grounded, but I know the night was worth my time, yeah?

I wonder how we ended up right here? With this darkness all around. Chasing after this old memory, Deeply lost and still unfound. Water falling off our faces, I'm chilled right to the bone. You say that light ahead’s our way out, But a way no longer home. Our way home, unkown. We have found the riches all around us, In that old moss garden well. But don’t you stop to fill your pockets. You can’t take from a wishing well. So I yell: Wait. Wait. Wait Wait. Wait stop. Because these are somebody else's wishes, They are somebody else's dreams. Though we thought we'd found our riches, Things aren't always what they seem. Whoa (x8ish) Because these are somebody else's wishes, They are somebody else's dreams. Though we thought we'd found our riches, Things aren't always what they seem. Because these are somebody else's wishes, They are somebody else's dreams. These are somebody else's wishes, A little hope is all we need. You say your dream was left unanswered. Well, mine is standing right in front of me. You talk, but I hear no words, Your mouth is all I see. Your mouth is all I see.

Another day moving, From this to what’s next, I feel the effects, On the go. Spread thin and scrambled, Most days I win, But margins are thin, This I know. A small change in tempo, Just shifts the whole song, Intentions go wrong, Breaks the flow. Like my baby broken, Struck from within, Cold clammy skin, Lying low. It started last night. A feeling not right. I wonder should he have stayed alone? I’m so sorry, I just completely, forgot to call. I was lost in my morning, I hear your warning, But I know, he’s home lying low. I don’t understand it? Something seems wrong, I know he belongs, Lying low. Your increase in volume, A number erased, Your call out for Grace is a show. Now I can assure you, What I share is true, I don’t believe you’re in the know. So where does this leave us? Your voice echoes when, I stop to check in on the go. A peek through the door A shift and a snore Just like I thought, lying low. I’m so sorry, I just completely, forgot to call. I was lost in my morning, I hear your warning, But I know, he’s home lying low. It was never nine times... I’m so sorry, I just completely, forgot to call. I was lost in my morning, I hear your warning, But I know, he’s home lying low.

It dead ends at the Royal River, A place we never should’ve been. In a Dodge that never was ours, Running from the law again. We walked the tracks right by the river, The woods thick with summer air. Under the bushes where we found him, His body lying there. We can’t expose ourselves for knowing, The Back Harlow Road’s too far. They know we wouldn’t walk there, They know that we don’t have a car. I don’t care if they ever find him, Cold eyes staring to the sky. It was the train that must’ve hit him, On the day Ray Brower died. It’s not our problem now. We’re not gonna tell nobody. Nobody, never. Somebody else can bring him home. It’s best we just keep our mouths shut. This is our secret now to carry. We’re never going to discuss, Then they can’t touch us.
7.
I’ve seen regret that’s burning in his eyes, A weight he’ll always carry up until the day he dies, With guilt, he cries. And I’ve seen less go on to break a man, His heart divided lost and yearning just to understand, He can, with a plan Oh, I’ll keep sending him up. He can’t get back in the saddle, won’t engage (at all). You know, he might just not make it back? His brain rewired, muddled, always under some attack, Hijacked, he’ll crack. And now we see if he’s got what it takes, We’ll watch to learn if he can he move beyond his big mistake, He made, heartbreak. Oh, I’ll keep sending him up. He can’t get back in the saddle, won’t engage (at all).
8.
Not from around here, that much is clear. Bothered with oil lingering in the air. I see you’re stranded, and feel your fear. Watch you huddle as I draw near. What do you want from me my friend? I’m not who you might think that I am. I’m no hero, and I won’t pretend, Just to help since you’re struggling. This is the city. I don’t help anybody but myself. Sweet, sweet, sweet and carefree. I can’t hardly believe, That you’re giving this to me. A gift from your heart, It gives me a fresh start. But I won’t tear you apart. So I cannot say yes, But let me express, That you’re no longer in distress. Your gift's true wealth. For a man stuck on himself, When I help you I help myself.
9.
You're lucky I found you, Even if you were this "legendary thing." Hired to help me start a war, And with my brains you're safely underneath my wing. Now am I going mad, Or did the word "think" just escape your lips? Now it's time to push it hard. We gotta keep on going and skip beyond the cliffs. Hurry up. Move the thing. And the other thing. Move it! Only you should be strong enough, And if he tries to follow that's a big mistake. Won't you tell me why does he gain? Did I make it clear that your job is at stake? You can go back to being friendless, Brainless, helpless, hopeless - up to you. Or you can bear down and keep pushing hard. And get paid for what I hired you to do.  Hurry up. Move the thing. And the other thing. Move it!
10.
I’ve watched you working here, That smile upon your face. Sit down and take a break, Your pride is out of place. Your inner glow has captured me. Like no one I have found. I love talking with you. I want more of you around. I feel like I could tell you anything (and everything). But you have got to loosen up, If you’re gonna to hang out with me. I feel I’ve done all the talking, You can be yourself when with me. What did you do back home? How did you get so smart? I love that you’ll express yourself, I love that you speak from the heart. I feel like I could tell you anything (and everything). I feel like things are moving fast, Now that you are in my world. And now that Daryl’s in my past, I can be your only girl. I feel like I owe you a favor, Can I fix you up a meal? And depending on the flavor, I will make with you this deal. Instead I'll let you cook for me, But let me buy the food. I’d love to see where you live, Get to know your neighborhood. And with this one little promise, That I hope is plain to see. That I am falling for you now, I love you Akeem. I feel like I could tell you anything (and everything). Now you say over, and all that is true. And if you would listen, I want to talk to you. And all that we have shown, will just leave him alone. Somebody else’s wishes, are all that we’ve known. And through all our problems, I forgot to call. Let’s just keep our mouths shut, we’ll get through it all. If you’re back in the saddle, are you feeling strong? Cause this is the city, it’s where we belong. And given the chances, just move the thing. And if you will listen, I’ll tell you anything. Know that what I say is true, Everything will be all right, A small setback to ignite, A new way to view this world And from this seat I see, It all will be just fine. There’s nothing but sunshine, As long as we take time to see. Any other feeling please hold for now, Focus on the good things and sing it loud. One more thought to share before I go: I love you more than you will ever know. I will always remember, How your love helps me power through.

about

A boring middle-aged dad got a cancer diagnosis in the middle of a pandemic, and he wrote, performed, recorded, and produced a one-man-band concept album to distract himself from the news. Now he's giving it away for free (with a pay-what-you-want) option tif you'd like to help with his medical expenses. Each track on the album is written from the perspective of ten unique characters from ten various 80s movies, and he filled the lyrics with easter eggs for you to try and guess the movies and characters that inspired the tracks.
